Matthew 6:9-13
“This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one
I. Our Father in heaven. Hallowed be Your name. v. 9
Praise God for who He is as revealed in His Name (The names of God reveal who He is…Jehovah Jireh, El Shaddai, Good Shepherd, Almighty God, Counselor, Prince of Peace, Jehovah Shalom, El Elyon, King of Kings…)
Righteousness – He makes me clean (Jehovah Tsidkenu)
Sanctifier – He has called me and set me apart
Healer – He heals all my diseases (Jehovah Rapha)
Banner of Victory – He has defeated my enemy
Shepherd – He speaks to me and leads me to
Peace – He is my peace in every storm (Jehovah Shalom)
Provider – He supplies all of my needs (Jehovah Jireh)
God’s name is a place of protection—the righteous can run there and be safe (Proverbs 18:10 MSG)

II. Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. v. 10
Ask God to Establish His Kingdom and reveal His priorities in the following domains:
•Family •Relationships •School • Church • Government
He will always give you all you need from day to day if you will make the Kingdom of God your primary concern (Luke 12:31 TLB). 4
III. Give us this day our daily bread. v. 11
Ask God for what you need and trust Him to provide in the following areas:
• Family •School • Food • Medical •Church • Job • Transportation/Insurance
I look up to the mountains—does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth! (Psalm 121:1-2 NLT).
IV. And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. v. 12
Get your heart right with God and with people. • Ask God to check your heart and motives. • Receive His forgiveness for any area that He brings to mind. • Forgive anyone who has offended you in any way. Ask God to bless the one who have offended you or hurt you.
V. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. v. 13
Ask God to lead you away from:
• Unhealthy friendships • Unedifying conversation • Past negative images • Temptation • Ungodly fantasies •Time wasters Ask God to deliver you from: • Satanic thoughts • Unsuspecting temptations • Satanic attacks • Repetitive fears • Undesirable dreams • Unwholesome entertainment
VI. For Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever, Amen. v. 13
Ask God to: • Speak for you are listening – give us ears to hear what the Spirit of God is saying to us. (Revelation 2:29) • Answer in the time and in the way it fits His perfect will • That your life would bring a testimony to God’s glory “Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you” (Jeremiah 32:17).
