Kingdom Resolutions for the New Year

The New Year brings a feeling of newness and a fresh start.  We start diets, create budgets and make plans to do things better this year. 

This year, I believe the most important resolutions are not connected to the physical or financial.  This year it is vital for God's people to become focused and clear.  It is time to get serious about renewing our minds and our emotions.  As our world becomes more and more chaotic and angry, we must build hedges of protection around our mind and emotions.  There seems to be a growing collective insanity in the world!

If you joined the army or were preparing for a physical confrontation, you would train for many months to get your body in top shape.  In the same manner, it is the Kingdom citizen's responsibility to prepare their mind and emotions for the coming year.  Remember that Satan is the god of chaos.  Even when we are in the midst of chaos, Kingdom citizens remain at peace.  When others are offended and spreading chaos and anger, Kingdom citizens remain at peace.  When you are full of God's Word you will bring the fruits of the Spirit with you, no matter what environment you enter!

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.~~Galatians 5:22-23

If that scripture doesn't describe your presence, there's still some work to do.  It all starts and ends in God's Word.  None of us have "arrived" yet.  

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. ~~John 14:26-27
